SAFE Poster Contest

Be Prepared, Be Informed, Be Safe. 

The City of San Antonio Office of Emergency Management (SAOEM) is proud to announce the annual San Antonio Flood Emergency (SAFE)System Poster Contest.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is a great opportunity for educators to help increase awareness on how to be prepared for a severe weather/flooding event.

Poster Contest information:      

l.   The contest is open to children registered for school as of September 1, 2009 between the kindergarten and 5^th grade age group.    

2.   To qualify for this contest, all posters must be submitted by September 30^th, 2010 at designated SAFE Poster Contest Drop-off reciprocals.  Winners will be selected and forwarded to the SAOEM/SAFE System Committee.

3.  Entry rules:                      

            a.       Posters must be in landscape format which is 8 ½” high by 11” wide.                                    (Use of pages 5/6 of the SAFE Activity Book is                      
                      recommended.)
            b.       Posters must be produced in color.             

            c.       DO NOT

                        ·         Laminate Poster        

                        ·         Place or use stickers on poster       

                        ·         Glue or use wood, plastic, glass, or metal on
                                  poster                                           
                        ·         Use copyrighted characters (i.e. comic and/or
                                  television characters), photographs, and magazine or newspaper
                                  illustrations on poster.

            d.         All entries MUST display the San Antonio Flood Emergency System logo
                        and the theme –somewhere in the body of the poster if                        
                        pages 5/6 are not used.

            e.        All entries must be labeled either using page 6 of the SAFE Activity book
                       or written on the back side of the entry.      

4.     Selected winners will have their poster displayed during Flood Safety Week throughout the City.  

5.     All winning posters selected by SAOEM become the property of the City of San         Antonio Office of Emergency Management to be used in the production of the 2011 San Antonio Flood Emergency (SAFE) System Calendar, and may be reproduced in other industry publications.
